Class Evaluation

Class Evaluation

1. What I like about this class is that I get to learn more about computers and all the ways I can do
different things. I've learned how to create my own website which is useful for the future and future
jobs that may require me to do so. I also like the posts we do about how we can become better people
or successful. I find that useful because it has made my life better and brighter. From that, I can go
around and teach people and help them the way it has helped me.

2. I don't dislike this class in any way. This is my favorite class.

3. I recommend we get more time doing the ways on how to become better and successful people. Sometimes I just want to write more and we don't get enough time. I would also like a little more time working on my weebly account because I would like to improve my website and I don't have the time at home to do it.

4. A couple of highlights in this class was meeting new people like the ones who sit next to me. This has made me closer with them and now I consider them as really good friends. Another highlight was starting my new weebly website. I really enjoy working on it and improving it little by little.

5. I believe I did great in this class. When it comes to the ways, I get into it and love expressing how I feel about the topic and what I know about it.

6. Yes, I do write in my goals journal for five minutes daily. I write about a page each goal. I don't have enough time to get to the Sharpen the Saw part but when I do, I write enough. I also don't have the time to report but I am writing in my goals journal when I can.

7. I am very committed to being a CTR student. I think being a CTR student/person will get me far in life. I follow all the ways that will help me become successful in my future. Not only that but, I am seeing myself become a better person so the ways are really affecting me for the better.

10 Keys to Personal Power -Brian Tracy

 10 Keys to Personal Power

Key 1: Clarity

"Have vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life. Have a sense of direction and know where you're going. If you do not have clear specific goals in life, you are doomed forever to work for others who do."

This is saying that you should already have your future in mind. You should have a clear understanding of what you want to do with your life. This way, you can work towards your goal instead of doing a whole bunch of other things instead and wasting your life away. Knowing what you are working for makes life a whole lot easier. You know what you're trying to achieve so you know what you have to do and you won't let anything get in your way. You have an idea of the obstacles that you may have to overcome and that will save you some time.

Image result for clarity

Key 2: Competence

"If you commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."

Competence is saying that if you look to excellence, you'll go far in life and you'll be successful. You will always find something to do that will affect your future for the better. There will come more opportunities for you and these opportunities will guide you and eventually help you out. This is also saying that you have to work hard to be great. If you do a half booty job, you won't be as great as the person doing the maximum. You have to work for what you want and be the best at it. You will feel accomplished. You will be successful.

                                            Image result for competence

Key 3: Concentration

"Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself "Is this the best use of my time?" before you start anything."

Concentration is an important key to personal power. To do a good job on something, you have to stay concentrated. Staying concentrated means putting all things that would distract you aside and focus on the most important thing you're doing. Stalling to do work won't help you get to where you want to be. It'll only waste your time and you won't get to where you want right away. This is why concentration is an important key to personal power.

    Image result for concentration

Key 4: Common Sense

  • train your mind
  • think things along
  • listen to your intuition
  • learn from setbacks

Key 5: Creativity

"Except the fact that every human being is a genius. The hallmark of creativity is asking questions. The people who are most creative ask the most questions."

Being creative is a great way to explore new things and new ways of doing things. It also allows you to express yourself in different ways. You think outside the box so you want to know more and learn more. You ask more questions and you are more involved with what you are doing and learning. From being more involved and concentrated, you become smarter.

Image result for creativity

Key 6: Consideration

"The quality of your relationship with other people will determine your success in life."

"Develop the people skills you need to become a better communicator. Take courses in listening, speaking, etc."

"If you were to learn one new word a day, within 5 years, you'll be the best educated person in history."

Being considerate of others is very important. You have to think about them or how something you say or do may affect them. You have to be able to communicate with them when you notice they are sad. Listening to others and how they're feeling and their emotions really makes them feel like you're there for them.

Image result for considerate

Key 7: Consistency

"Dependable, steady predictable work is always superior to fast spurts of work."

"Be consistent in your relationships, your family, friends, your boss, your work. Be the person that people can depend upon. That if you say you'll do something you do it..."

Being consistent means being fair. You have to be fair with others and make everything equal.

Image result for consistency

Key 8: Commitment

"No success is possible without commitment. The ability to commit yourself whole heartily is the basis of achieving all success."

"Become totally absorbed in your work. Be totally committed."

Being committed is important when you have a goal. In order to succeed at achieving your goal, you have to put your all. Being committed to something is like saying you'll do something and keeping your word. If you aren't committed, you can't expect yourself to achieve your goal. When you're committed, you achieve it a lot faster. If you become lazy and don't put your all into what you want, you either won't achieve it or the process will take longer. Be committed for something you desperately want because it won't just come to you on its own.

Image result for commitment

Key 9: Courage

"The fear of failure is the single greatest reason for failure in life."

In order to not fail in life, you have to be courageous. You can't let the fear of failing take over. Being courageous means you have to do what you're scared to do. Take risks and do things you normally wouldn't do. You cannot be afraid to do things or be afraid to fail. If you don't try because you feel like you're gonna fail then you're going to fail anyways. So, it's better to try and fail than to give up and fail.

Image result for courage

Key 10: Confidence

"You only get confidence by doing things over and over again."

Being confident is so important. Being confident means you feel good about what you're doing and you feel good about your choices. When you're confident, you are well aware of what you're doing and you don't doubt yourself. This is good for your image. Not only are you showing others how confident you are but you're showing yourself that you can amount to anything without thinking you're wrong. Being confident shows others that you're not afraid to do things and you think what you're doing is right. People will see that you're not one to quit and they'll surround you more because they like people like that.

Character and Personality

What I learned from this video was that character and personality is key to living a good life. It's what connects everything you do. These two things are completely different though. Character is who you are inside and what gets you going. Personality is what you show people. It is more important to work on your character than your personality. It's better to get your work done than to make people interested in you. You will get through life easier with character rather than personality. You will go farther in life and succeed. Start from the bottom and work your way up to the top. Start from the roots and you'll eventually get to where you want to be. Personality is important in life but character will definitely get you farther and it'll be more useful to your future success.

my life as a teen

Being a teenager is so difficult. They're putting so much pressure on us. I have a mock interview next week, exactly next week at 4:20. They haven't prepared us for it.

Forget that. I might go to my old school on friday for the biggest rival game. Lawndale vs Hawthorne and I am so excited to go back and see old teachers and my old friends. I'll probably stay at lawndale because that's my home. Imma stay with my bestfriend Gigi and kick her off her bed and she can kick her brother off his bed and he'll sleep in the living room with their dog Koko. I not only have friends at Lawndale but at Hawthorne too because I'm just that popular B). Lol jk. But yeah. I can't wait to see the new building at Lawndale. I was looking forward to them finishing it since they tore down the "cafeteria" my freshman year there. I can't wait to see Marylin and Michael and Adela and all my other friends because I love them. Oh and Keenon !!!!! He's my favorite. I love keenoff. He always made me happy and although he pissed me off more than half of the time, he was always there for me.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Habit 1: Be Proactive
"Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
"Control your own destiny or someone else will." (Jack Welch)

Reflection:
I think the 7 habits of highly effective people are good habits that everyone should follow. Following the 7 habits will make your life better and easier. You always have to start with being proactive. Without being proactive, the other habits won't be easy to do. You have to think about what you want and go for it. Make it a goal.

IDK

Andres is gonna make me fat. He's always bringing me food. I'm not really complaining about him bringing me food. Like literally, god bless him. But my problem is me getting fat. I look like I'm pregnant but that's not possible. Anywho. He brought a fruity pebbles donut from that one place where you get those donuts and gave me half. It wasn't all that good but hey, food is food. Just kidding. Food is not food. Some things are nasty. How can people even call certain things food. Like Chipotle? That's diarrhea. Nasty. Gross. Kill yourselves. They should close down all Chipotles. Just thinking about it makes me sick but not as sick as how i get when i look at jareds face. Hideous.

omg let me tell you about how sneaky my bestfriend is. just kidding. thats none of your business. its no ones business but mine, hers and her boyfriends.

Remembering Names

1. In order to remember a person's names, you need to be committed. If you're not committed to learning someone's name then you're not going to put in the effort to learn it.

2. You should also concentrate on the name. If you don't concentrate or bother to ask or even care, you definitely won't learn the person's name.

3. Repetition. The key to learning someone's name is repetition. The more you repeat it, the more it'll get stuck in your head.

4. Associate with the person. When you see the person and communicate more with them, you'll remember their face and their name.

Six Ways to Make People Like You

If you want people to like you...........

Rule 1: Become genuinely interested in other people.
1) "Do this and you will be welcome anywhere."
2) "You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you."
3) "Ask questions to other people, questions that they would enjoy answering."

Image result for being interested

Rule 2: Smile
1) "Actions speak louder than words, and  a smile says, "I like you. You make me happy. I'm glad to see you."
2) "You don't feel like smiling? Then force yourself to smile."
3) "It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in business, and is the countersign (witness or indication) of friends."

Image result for smile

Rule 3: Remember names
1) "A man's name is to him the sweetest and most important sound in any language."
2) "If you don't remember names, you are headed for trouble."

Rule 4: Be a good listener. Encourage other to talk about themselves.
1) "If you aspire to be a good conversationalist, be an attentive listener."
2) "Remember that the person you are talking to is a hundred times more interested in himself and his wants and his problems than he is in you and your problems."

Image result for good listener

Rule 5: Talk in terms of the other man's interest

"The royal road to a man's heart is to talk to him about the things he treasures most."

Image result for be a good listener

Rule 6: Make the other person feel important--and do it sincerely.
"The desire to be important is the deepest urge in human nature." (John Dewey) "Helping people feel important and appreciated works magic."

Image result for make others feel important

Final Reflection: I find the six ways really important. Following these rules/ways will get people to like you and you should want to be liked. By doing this, you'll get more friends. First, you want to be interested in the person and this will show them that you really care about them and they'll appreciate that. It is also good to smile and remember their names because it shows people you are willing to be there for them and listen to them. Being a good listener also goes with the way of being interested in them because you pay attention to what they have to say and want to know more about. Following these ways will make others interested in you as well. They'll see the impact it made on them and start doing the same and follow the ways too.

Sadness

My friend was moved seats today. I'm pretty upset about this. I always looked forward to this class because he made me laugh. Now I'm sad and depressed. He was my source of happiness. Now I'm in a dark place. This is not okay. He was my best friend and now I feel like we're going to drift apart after this change. I can't see clearly anymore. I know last time I talked about my hatred for the kid but really, deep down inside, I love him, but as a friend of course.  It was always laughs and giggles when he was next to me. It was always a good time. Now it's darkness and cold. I don't know if I can do this anymore. I want to cry but I know he doesn't want to see me that way.

Peak Performances Principles

"The Six Attitudes of High Achievers"

John R. Noe

High Achievers.......

1. Make no small plans
In order to be a high achiever you shouldn't make any small plans. Small plans are for people who are lazy and don't want to do more than they can. Those people only choose to do the minimum work. Sure you can get somewhere with that but it's better to go the extra mile. Set higher goals for yourself. This can guarantee you get a better job or do better in life. Making small plans are for people who just want to get through life doing the average. Get through life with big plans and higher expectations for yourself. It'll be good for the long run.

Image result for no small plans

2. Do what they fear
Doing what you fear is a great way to be a high achiever. This means you're going out of your comfort zone and doing things you normally wouldn't or were afraid to do. Doing things you are afraid to do shows people that you can do a lot more than they expected. You're facing your fears in order to get to where you want. You're not sitting back and letting your fears stop you from doing things.

Image result for do what they fear

3. Are willing to prepare
Preparing beforehand is a thing only high achievers do. These are the people that prepare and study for upcoming quizzes. They take time out of their days to prepare for things no matter the circumstances. They will be ready for anything. This includes practice. You  can't really accomplish anything if you don't practice or prepare. This also means that these people are working harder to get to where they want and need to be.

Image result for are willing to prepare

4. Are willing to risk failure
High achievers are willing to risk failure. They won't be a sore loser. If they know they can't accomplish something, they know the outcomes. They know they will fail. It's not only those that don't know how to do a certain task. Some people work hard for things but just can't do the work right. Or say someone is racing, and they are behind. It's okay to fail. It doesn't necessarily mean you're going to fail the rest of your life.

Image result for willing to risk failure

5. Are teachable
High achievers are teachable. This means that they can be taught no matter what. Even if they don't understand the topic, they'll take their time to try and understand it. These people will take time out of their day to learn a new topic no matter how long it takes. These are the ones you know will succeed. They don't give up as soon as they don't understand something but instead keep trying.

Image result for being teachable

6. Have heart
Everyone has a heart but only high achievers use it for good. Not a lot of people are kind. Not a lot of people think it's necessary to help others because it's not their problem. But only real high achievers will lend a helping hand. They'll do their best to help others. Not only will this be good for them but the other person will carry on doing the same.

Image result for have a heart

Final  Reflection

The Six Attitudes of High Achievers is an important thing to follow. Not only does it make you a better person but it makes you smarter. Only high achievers do these 6 things. You put others before you, you admit you made a mistake and need help. Be an active citizen and help out others, prepare for what's ahead. Risk failure.

My Hatred for Jared

http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/garyjules/madworld.html

I hate jared. Jared is annoying and loud and his glasses are just as ugly as him. I don't know how his mom allows such an ugly creature into her house. Jared just irritates me. He stares and doesn't shut up and thinks the world revolves around him. I don't understand why Jared thinks he can correct me when he's probably the dumbest person I've ever met. Like really? And then he has the nerve to say lies about me. There Jared goes saying dumb things. I can't even with him. And he really thinks I care about him like not even his mom cares about him so why would I? Everyday Jared's mother asks why he's there? She asks herself why she didn't leave him on the streets.

Ways to be Happy

9 Ways to be Happy and Make Something of your Life

1. Be Grateful
Being grateful means feeling or showing an appreciation of kindness. Being grateful shows others that you're thankful and happy with what you have no matter how bad anything can be. You have to be grateful for even the smallest things that you have because not many people have what you have and would wish to live like you. So, there is no reason why you should ask for more and more because at times, your parents aren't able to get you exactly what you want because of money reasons. Some people (mostly kids/teens) don't know how to appreciate the things they have and were blessed with and instead, complain because they wan't to live an elegant life with expensive things. What they don't realize is that there are children and adults out there who live on the streets and would kill to have a home like you. They would kill to be in your shoes. "Be grateful for small things, big things, and everything in between." People don't realize that what they have is everything. Parents work so hard to give you things because they love you and want you to be happy. I, myself, am a person who wants things but then I ask myself if I actually need it and most of the time it's a no so I leave it behind. I know nowadays kids want what everyone else has to make them look cool and hip but it shouldn't have to be that way. Thank god that you have the clothes you have and the food that's put on your table every night and an education because not all people were blessed with that kind of stuff. Some people have to dig in the trash for food and clothes and things they need to survive. Things come easy to you and it's time to start thinking about it. Be grateful for everything you have.

2. Be Smart
Being smart not only means being good at school or work but it also means to be knowledgeable about your surroundings. I'm talking about being street smart. Being street smart means having experience and being knowledgeable about the outside world and knowing the dangers of your environment. If some random person offered you food or a drink or anything else what would be the smart thing to do? Say no and walk away because you don't know those people nor do you know what kind of person they are. They probably had the intention of hurting you or drugging you. Now the other kind of smart is being book smart. Being book smart can help you in so many ways. Everyone is smart but some try harder than others. Being smart will get you good grades and you'll graduate and if you really are smart, then you'd know that going to college is the best thing to do. Going to college will help you get a better/high paying job. This way you'll live a good life. So being both kinds of smarts, streets and books, will help you go down the right path in life.

3. Be Involved in Good Works
Being involved in good works means doing charitable acts or good deeds. You can donate clothes you don't wear anymore to those who don't have any. You can also participate in a food drive as an act of good works. Doing things for others is a good way of making you feel better about yourself, but that shouldn't be the the reason why you do it. Doing good deeds like that should be because you want to help the less fortunate and give them at least some of what they couldn't have. They don't have it easy and giving them the things they don't receive on a daily basis will make them so grateful and happy. This will not only bring joy to them, but to you as well.

Image result for good deeds
4. Be Clean
Being clean doesn't necessarily mean not having dirt on you or anywhere in your room or house. Being clean can also mean being clean of certain foods, drinks and other things that may put you in danger of certain diseases or illnesses. You have to make sure that you are clean and healthy because you can get sick if you're not. Bacteria travels and if you're dirty, there's a higher chance that you will get sick. It is also important that you are clean from certain foods like anything considered junk food. This doesn't have to do with body appearance but the more you eat, the bigger you get and the bigger you get the more out of shape you are and that is very unhealthy. It is very important that you stay clean from drugs. Drugs are no good for people and I understand that some people need the a certain drug to help them with pain but other than that, no one should be doing it. Drugs are bad for people and will mess up their lives for the worst. It gets in your system and it makes you obsessed and it's so hard to come back from that.
Image result for different ways of being clean

5. Be True
Being true means to be truthful to yourself and others. Being true to yourself means accepting who you are as a person. The decisions you make may affect your whole life so you need to know what you want in order to make the right decision for you. In this generation, everyone is all about impressing and pleasing others but when you're true to yourself, you be your own person and be the best you, you can be. There's no need to be someone you're not just to please others. Be who you want to be because that's the only way you can love yourself. No one can tell you how to be true to yourself but you. When you're true to yourself, you're true to others. You show them who you really are and don't pretend to be someone you're not and I think that's what most people love. Being true with others is a good way of helping them be true to themselves and others as well. They see how happy you are being yourself and it'll influence them to find themselves and be who they really are.

Image result for being true

6. Be Positive
Being positive means looking at the brighter side of things. There are going to be times where your life isn't going the way you planned or it's going wrong but that doesn't mean you should just give up. Try to look for the positive in the situation and you'll get through it. Not only is being positive trying to look at the brighter side but just being positive in general. If someone you know is down, cheer them up. Be the most positive person you can be because I promise you that they'll be thankful for you cheering them up during hard times. Not only will you cheer them up but seeing you be positive will make them positive and then everyone will be positive. You're not only affecting one person but 10 or maybe 20 or maybe even more. Being positive will also increase your happiness because you're just finding the good in everything.

Image result for positive

7. Be Humble
Being humble is when you're willing to learn things instead of being cocky and trying to be a know it all. Not only does it mean being quiet because you can be an outgoing/talkative person and still be humble. I see being humble as keeping to yourself. You can have the biggest house or the newest car or the most expensive clothes but at the end of the day we're all going to die and none of that is going to matter anymore. So what's the point of flaunting everything you have if it's not going to matter anymore? It's better to stay humble and keep what you have to yourself. Not only does that not make you a show off but it makes you a better person for knowing that not everyone has what you have and you don't want to make them feel bad.

Image result for humble

8. Be Still
Being still means emptying yourself from the incessant flow of thoughts and creating a state of consciousness that is open and receptive. This means to be still and think about things. Stop for a minute and just enjoy your surroundings. Being still also means to take some time for yourself. Reconnect with yourself. Find yourself.

Final Reflection

What I would do to commit to the nine ways is follow each one. Make each one of them a part of my daily life.

The 9 Ways Concluding Words by Gordon B. Hinckley

"There they are, nine Be's which, if observed, will bring handsome dividends to any young man or woman. They will add sparkle to your days and peace to your nights. They will save you from heartache and pain. They will bring purpose into your life and give direction to your energies.
They will bring you friends of your own kind. They will protect you from associations that would pull you down to deflect you from your course.
This is the time to be happy. This is a time to feel joy and make friends and enjoy the best this life has to offer. What I have tried to put forth.... are simply a few suggestions, gained from many years of living, to help you do just that. The world will tell that certain kinds of things will bring you happiness - things such as popularity and possessions and satisfying your baser desires.
If today you find yourself only drifting as a leaf in a stream, get a hold of yourself and determine what you will do better.
At railroad grade crossing, signs of warning were once common. Two cross arms were emblazoned with the words, "Stop, Look, Listen." They meant that a train could be roaring down the tracks and you had better be alert.
I was riding a train in the Midwest years ago. I looked out the window to my left. A road ran parallel to the tracks. A car with a boy and a girl were speeding down the road a little faster than the train. The car moved ahead until I could no longer see it. Suddenly, the locomotive whistle sounded and the train screeched to halt as the brakes gripped the wheels. We looked out the window on the other side. There was a mangled car. Police cars soon converged, followed by the ambulance. The boy and girl were both dead. The road they were traveling crossed the tracks. They did not stop, look, or listen. It all happened in an instant.

The better way to Be is the way of these nine Be's.

The years will inevitably pass, and pass quickly. Today is your day of resolution. Promise yourself to make something good of (your) precious life."
